Big tech firms and EU telecom operators could face questions from the European Commission about their investment outlays and cloud infrastructure plans before legislation to make the former pay telcos for their network costs. Firms like Google, Netflix, Amazon, and Meta say the idea of paying telcos for network costs amounts to an Internet traffic tax.
